Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Michigan, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Float pool position covering multiple Med/Surg units including Urology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Family Medicine, Surgical Short Stay, Medical Short Stay, Oncology, Pulmonary, and GI
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Patient ratios: 1:3 on days, 1:4 on nights and weekends
- Every other weekend required (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 8-week block)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating is a core expectation of this role
- Epic EMR — experience required
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior float pool or multi-unit Med/Surg experience required for first-time travelers to be considered
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are considered only if they have previous float pool or Med/Surg float experience
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
- Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration
